a nationwide programme to optimise udder health in Germany

The project aims at minimising the incidence of mastitis in German dairy cows. An improved udder health reduces milk losses, enlarges the lifetime performance and saves natural resources.

Currently, we have collated knowledge on maintaining and monitoring udder health in fact sheets and three films. By this, the information is available in a precise and easy to understand manner. The topics reach from the right milking over the judgement of teat condition to the healing rate in the dry period.

milchQplus is a cooperation between the German Association for Performance and Quality Testing (DLQ) and Hannover University.
